Hampshire Senior Ladies Final League Match v Berkshire - Thursday 21st July at Rowlands Castle GC

This was our final match in the Southern League which saw us go head to head against the current title holders “Berkshire” to decide who would be the League Champions.
The course was in wonderful condition and thankfully the temperature, although hot, was much more pleasant than it has been. We knew this was going to be tough with Berkshire fielding a very strong team and as expected all matches were tight at the turn.
I had every confidence in my team and they dug deep to keep Berkshire in their sights. Both teams produced some amazing golf and I am delighted that even though this match was halved 3.5 – 3.5, Hampshire were victorious by virtue of 2 games which were won in a previous match.
I would firstly like to thank our amazing “Seniors Ladies Squad” for all their support and commitment throughout the campaign. The desire & will to win, together with a brilliant team spirit, was evident in all matches and being crowned SOUTHERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS is a fitting tribute to everyone who played or supported us along the way.
Our grateful thanks must also go to Rowlands Castle Golf Club and their Catering Team for extending a very warm welcome and being our hosts for this final crunch match.
