Junior Performance Squad

Our Performance programme is for girls with single figure handicap indexes (as at 1st Jan each year), that have played in Hampshire events and/or previously been part of Hampshire training programmes. The focus of this programme is on preparing girls to represent Hampshire at scratch events including Junior County Match Week and helping them to advance their way on the talent pathway to selection for 1st and 2nd Team events.

In 2025 the programme will include:

• 4 squad days (Feb, March, April & Septmber) 
  Squad days will comprise of interactive sessions to help girls with preparation for playing in county or club events and will cover topics such as rules, course management, nutrition and fitness. Selected sessions will include 18 holes of golf – where scores will be recorded on the EG app for handicap purposes and count towards an Order of Merit during the year.
  Please note: Some venue are still being confirmed. Start/Finish times may be adjusted due to anticipated weather conditions.

• 3 hours of individual coaching with one of our HLG appointed coaches
  Each girl will be assigned a coach by HLG. 3 hours of coaching can be booked directly with the nominated coach it is up to each girl and the coach to agree how and when they would like to use those 3 hours.
• Access to the Upgame stat recorder
• Competitions
  As part of the programme, Performance girls would be expected to participate in our 3 main competitions: Spring Meeting, Junior Championship and Autumn Meeting. Girls in the programme should also strongly consider entering the Hampshire Ladies Championship held in May and Division 1 Autumn Meeting held in Oct.
• Matches
  Girls from this squad will be asked for their availability to represent Hampshire in Junior friendly matches including our annual triangular scratch match vs. Kent and Sussex which will take place at Stoneham Golf Club on Saturday 5th April (12 noon for sandwiches and chips, first tee at 13:30).

• Order of Merit
  A scratch order of merit will be run during the year. The top 4 ranked girls after the 30th June will earn a place in the team at Junior County Match Week. At the end of the year, the scratch winner will be awarded prizes at the end of season prize giving. Performance girls will also be entered into the handicap Order of Merit.
