Hull Shield Final Report
The most commonly overheard phrase at the annual Hull Shield Competition is “I hope I don’t let you down!”
Thirty two clubs from around Hampshire were represented at Waterlooville GC for the pairs event.
The wind it blew and the trees seemed to move out onto the fairway on every drive. But the sun was out and the greens were playing well.
Hull Shield champions were local Waterlooville GC pair, Diane Darlington and Barbara Ward, who recorded an impressive 142 total.
The other winners were:-
In 5th place, from Brokenhurst Manor GC, Elaine Barrow and Janet Handley with 152
In 4th place, from North Hants GC, Jane Baker and Sara Mitchell with 148 OCB
In 3rd place, from Hockley GC, Helen Bailey and Julie Moss with 148 OCB
In 2nd place, from Stoneham GC, Karen Mundy and Noan Nicol with 146
