However as the day started it appeared that competitors were being held by accidents on both the M3 and the A3 on the way to the competition. Pauline Davies, the HLG Competition Secretary had to move to a living start sheet and Anne the Competition Director, was fielding arrivals at the tee, using the marvels of the internet to see the evolving start sheet. The Competitors were all very cooperative however and in the end the whole field got away more or less on time.

The Weather Gods decided that we needed more excitement, sending bouts of torrential rain at times to test everyone. The pictures below proving that we were a hardy band.

Eventually the sun came back, and as the scores came in were able to find a few teams neck and neck for the win. The back 9 proving to be the toughest part of the course and ruining many a good card.
