With a hole-in-one and a course record, our 2024 Junior Championship at Boundary Lakes Golf Club was full of thrills and memorable moments. In pleasant summer conditions, 14 girls from Hampshire got on the tee to start their 36-hole Championship competition.
Some excellent scores were carded in the morning round, including a course record gross 69 from Junior Captain, Stevie Crozier-Hunt, which was closely followed with a gross 71 from Chrisha Thapa. In the nett competition only 5 shots separated the top seven competitors and in both competitions there was everything to play for in the afternoon round.
The excitement continued after the turn in the afternoon round when Nancy Neville achieved a hole-in-one on the par three 11th hole. Those who watched on including our County Captain, Sarah said it never looked anywhere else. Congratulations Nancy!!
It was a great day of golf (we even got to see a bit of cricket too!) and it was so nice to see the girls enjoying the course and each other's company. Well done to everyone who took part. Most of all a big congratulations to our prize winners:
A huge thank you to Boundary Lakes Golf Club for hosting this year's championship. We had such a great day and were so well looked after by everyone. Also a big thank you to Carron and Jackie for refereeing both rounds, to County President Jane for starting the girls and to Pauline and the HLG Competitions Committee for all their hard work in organising a very successful day for all participants.
